What changes the count
A size where the leftover strip matters: whatever is left after the last full row or column is too narrow for another 2.5 in sticker but often fits smaller designs, which is exactly what automatic packing does with mixed batches.
On a Letter sheet a plain grid is 3 across by 4 down, leaving 0.25 in spare across and 0.13 in down.
The counts assume every sticker is the same 2.5 inch square or circle, a 1/8 in (3.2 mm) gap between cut lines, and the sheet's own margins. Real designs are rarely square: a 2 × 1 in banner packs very differently from a 2 in star. Drop your actual files into the sheet maker and it packs the real outlines, rotating them when that fits more.
Cricut figures come from Cricut's help page "How large can I Print Then Cut?" (edited 19 August 2026, rechecked 25 October 2026); the machine and the Design Space version decide the final limit. The Silhouette row keeps 0.625 in clear for registration marks and avoids the three mark corners; that inset is a common default, not an official figure, so read the registration marks guide before relying on it.
